Full-Time Bar Manager (Victoria Park)

We're looking for an ambitious and experienced Bar Manager. You'll be instrumental in ensuring the good ship ACE Pizza serves up outstanding drinks and builds on an already amazing experience. This role supports the General Manager in shaping a vibrant bar environment that's outstanding — how we look after our guests is key to our success, and that starts with how we look after our drinks.
📍 Location: Victoria Park, Hackney, London.
💰 Pay: Up to £20 per hour (London Living Wage base + tronc)
👩 Reports To: General Manager, Directors
⏰ Hours: 45 hours per week, flexible shifts, evening and weekends standard
📅 Start Date: May/June
As Bar Manager, you'll take the lead on all aspects of our bar operations, driving drink quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. While the key responsibilities are outlined below, flexibility and a hands-on approach are essential in this dynamic role.
What You’ll Do:
Lead by example to promote exceptional standards in drink quality, service, and guest experience at the bar.
Develop and maintain an exciting and progressive drinks menu, including cocktails, wines, spirits, coffee and beer.
Manage all bar-related stock, including ordering, deliveries, inventory control, and minimising wastage, in collaboration with the General Manager
Oversee cellar management, keg rotation, line cleaning, and ensuring optimal drink dispense.
Train, mentor, and supervise a small, dedicated bar team, fostering their development and ensuring high service standards.
Operate as Senior Duty Manager for the Front of House team, core key-holder, and responsible person in the absence of General Manager, Assistant Manager and Head Chef.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, licensing, and food hygiene regulations, specifically within the bar area.
Support day-to-day operations, including accurate cashing up, financial recording, and banking procedures.
Drive sales and customer engagement through events, promotions, and a continuously evolving drinks offering.
Liaise with suppliers to source new and exciting products.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience in a supervisory role within a busy bar or restaurant, such as Bar Supervisor or Senior Bartender.
Demonstrable knowledge across a range of drinks, including cocktails (recipes and techniques), wine, spirits, and beer (cellaring and keg management). Coffee is a plus!
A passion for creating exceptional drinks and delivering incredible guest experiences.
Experience in training and developing junior team members.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a positive, can-do attitude.
Comfortable working with all stakeholders, from customers to suppliers and business owners.
